The European Commission is organising the second Sharing & Reuse Conference under the theme Open.Share.Link. to showcase the benefits of sharing and reusing IT solutions in the public sector. Register here and join us in exploring the role of open source in the Commission’s goal of enhancing the development of more efficient and cost-effective public services. The conference will take place on 11 June 2019 in Bucharest, Romania.

The Sharing & Reuse Conference 2019 will bring together policy makers, IT managers, open source software developers, specialists, consultants and advocates. This is a chance to interact with key specialists from public services, the private sector and open source associations from across Europe and beyond. Come and help build, reinforce and campaign for European IT innovation, government modernisation, openness, and sharing and reuse.

Conference highlights:

  • European open source policies and strategies.
  • How do software developers from inside and outside the public sector contribute to government-led open source projects?
  • Practical ways for public services to contribute to the security of open source software (EU FOSSA initiative).
  • Governments coding with citizens (Blue Hats, Code for America Brigades).
  • Proven solutions and inspiring examples (Sharing & Reuse Awards).

The conference will start with contributions from Mariya Gabriel, EU Commissioner for Digital Economy and Society; Cristian Cucu, Romanian Presidency of the Council of the EU; and Mário Campolargo, Deputy Director-General of DG Informatics, European Commission.
