Annekatrien Debien is a consultant with 9 years of experience in the European Earth Observation industry. She received her MSc. in Bioscience Engineering, with a specialisation in Earth Observation in 2009 from the KU Leuven University. After spending one year at ESA/ESRIN as a Young Graduate Trainee, working for KSAT in Tromsø, Norway, and developing her individual consultancy business, she joined SpaceTec Partners in July 2016 and has been heading the Operations of the Copernicus Support Office, under contract of the European Commission, ever since. In this capacity, she manages a team of consultants responsible for supporting users and potential users of Copernicus free and open data and information, while being the lead technical GIS/EO expert in the organisation. She is also a regular speaker at Copernicus market development and user uptake events. Annekatrien has a keen personal and professional interest in FOSS and remains a regular user of such software, and a regular participant to FOSS4G conferences.
