Christian Strobl is working as GIS and Remote Sensing Scientist at the German Aerospace Center in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany. The last years his major tasks were the development of processing chains for remote sensing applications and the application of FireBIRD data for natural hazards. At the moment he works mainly at CODE-DE, the national Copernicus Data and Exploitation Platform for Germany, where he is responsible for the work package data discovery and data access. In general he focuses on processing geoscientific and remote sensing data with open source tools. Christian holds a Ph.D. in Geology at the Munich Ludwig-Maximilians University where he also teaches GIS. In addition he holds lectures about Geostatistics at the Technical University Munich.
