Daniel Urdă is currently working as a GIS software developer at Essensys Software, an important player on the GIS market in Romania. With a M.Sc. in Parallel and Distributed Computer Systems from the Politehnica University of Bucharest and VU University of Amsterdam, he is interested in developing software applications for geographical analysis, using both open source and proprietary building blocks. He has regularly shared his results at various national and international FOSS4G events since 2012. An OSGeo Charter member beginning with 2016, in 2017 he also joined the local Romanian chapter, geo-spatial.org.
