ECMWF

Mark Parrington is a senior scientist at the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts where he works on emissions of pollutants from forest fires and their influence on global atmospheric composition in the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service. Mark has more than 15 years experience working in many aspects of research into atmospheric chemistry and physics including Earth observation, in situ measurements, forest fires and atmospheric chemistry modelling. In particular he is interested in how measurements (made by Earth Observation satellites and aircraft) and numerical models can be used together to better understand atmospheric composition and chemistry and how it is changing. Mark is also interested in science communication and how information of air quality and atmospheric composition can reach a wider audience.
