Michael has been working in the geospatial industry since 1985 and has professional experience in both state government and geospatial consulting. Michael is an OSGeo Charter Member who began working with Open Source geospatial software in 2009 and attended his first global FOSS4G event in Denver in 2011. In 2017, Michael was the Conference Chair of the global FOSS4G held in Boston. In addition, he has served in several other capacities for FOSS4G events, including Program Committees for North American conferences in 2012, 2013 and 2018; and as the Director of Sponsorship for FOSS4G Dar es Salaam in 2018. Michael is currently working for Thermopylae Science & Technology (T-Sciences) and is involved with T-Science’s management of the Open Source Google Earth Enterprise (OpenGEE) project.
