The Romanian National Meteorological Administration (Meteo Romania) is a legal entity of public interest, founded in 1884, responsible for providing services for the protection of life and property in the form of weather and climate-related information, including warnings of severe meteorological phenomena. Meteo Romania represents Romania in the relation with international institutions like World Meteorological Organization (WMO), European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF), EUMETSAT, Consortium for Small-scale Modeling (COSMO), Regional Cooperation for Limited Area modeling in Central Europe (RC LACE/ALADIN) Consortium, Economic Interest Grouping of the National Meteorological Services of the European Area (ECOMET) or European National Meteorological Services Network (EUMETNET).
